With so many different AI models available nowadays, it can be difficult to choose the "right" one for your needs. Furthermore, the need for specific integrations with custom implementations for each model can be daunting. However, the advent of MCP (Model Context Protocol) alleviates this concern. For those unfamiliar, think of MCP as the USB of AI agents—it streamlines the process of creating tools and connecting them to various agents without requiring unique integrations for each one. This blog demonstrates a Deephaven integration with Claude, showcasing how MCP simplifies the process, allowing you to focus more on meaningful work and less on setup.

Pairing Claude with Deephaven unlocks seamless access to worker and table information, delivers insightful answers to documentation inquiries, and even helps write and execute code.

This demo showcases two MCP servers. The first enables Claude to interact with Deephaven workers to write queries, execute code, and more. The second gives Claude access Deephaven's documentation, enabling it to act as a knowledge repository when queried. It's important to note that the real value MCP is in its ability to work with many different AI agents - Claude desktop is used for this demo, though any compatible agent will work.

Looking ahead

Stay tuned for more updates as this integration continues to develop!
